Joiners Shop

Our joiners shop is fully equipped to allow us to produce all the timber parts of a bell installation including wheels, stays, sliders, runner boards, pulley boxes, Ellacombe chiming frames etc.. Wheels are produced using a custom built bench which is fitted with jigs and machining equipment to allow us to make wheels from 24" - 108" diameter, suitable for bells ranging from small chiming bells right up to a 2.5 ton changeringing bell.

The principal timbers we use are air-dried English oak and ash, sweet chestnut, sapele, iroko and, for new bellchamber floors and flapping boards, finest joinery grade softwood. We hold substantial stocks of all these timbers, all of the finest quality.
