Traditional
quality
Perhaps the most attractive and obviously "crafted" part of any traditional
bell installation is the wheel and we take great pride in the quality
and finish of our wheels. The spokes of each Nicholson wheel are of air-dried
English oak, the soles are of steam bent ash and the shrouds or sides
of the rim are of sweet chestnut. Stainless steel screws are used throughout
the construction of each wheel for the greatest possible durability. All
fixing bolts are of hot-dip galvanized steel rather than the much cheaper
alternative of bright zinc plated steel, the latter often erroneously
being described as galvanized.
The use of the finest
quality materials, regardless of cost, is just one example of the total
quality approach which goes into every facet of a Nicholson installation.
